A radiation oncologist with more than 15 years of experience in partial breast irradiation procedures at the Virginia Commonwealth University Health System, Dr. Laurie Cuttino has also served as a faculty member at the Virginia Commonwealth University Department of Radiation Oncology for more than a decade. Outside of her clinical and academic responsibilities, Dr. Laurie Cuttino maintains membership in the American College of Radiology.
The American College of Radiology is sponsoring a new program to help radiology professionals develop the skills they need to be leaders not only in their field, but in the business of health care. Named the Radiology Leadership Institute, the program will last for twelve weeks and has been tailored to help young radiologists who are looking to step into leadership positions for the first time, as well as those already in leadership roles who want to take their careers to the next level.
The program will begin in early October and continue through early May 2018. It will cover three major components, including a comprehensive look at hospital boards, how to take ownership of a medical department through various initiatives, and how to be a voice for change at the institutional level in a hospital setting.
